The Guest List: Why We Occasionally Source Fordite Cabochons from Other Artists
Handcrafted with Heart (and a Little Help from Our Friends)
At the core of every piece we create is a dedication to the art of the lapidary. We believe that a truly special piece of jewelry starts with the stone, which is why we hand-cut and polish about 98% of our own Fordite cabochons right here in our studio. From raw slab to finished shimmer, we take pride in overseeing every curve and contour of the beauties we create.
Why We Sometimes Look Elsewhere
While we love getting our hands dirty, every once in a while we stumble upon a piece of Fordite shaped by another designer whose vision we simply adore. In those rare moments, we can’t help but bring their artistry into our collection.
Our process for these curated pieces:
The Selection: We only source stones from fellow independent artists who share our passion for quality and unique character.
The Signature Finish: Even when we don't cut the stone ourselves, we still bring it into our shop for a final "glow-up." We apply our own signature polishing process to ensure the surface meets our standards for shine and smoothness, giving it that distinct look you've come to expect from our brand.
The Assembly: To let these guest designs shine, we keep the hardware intentional—we carefully drill the holes, attach a high-quality necklace bail, and pair it with the perfect chain.
The Result: By the time it reaches you, it’s a collaboration of talents, thoughtfully finished by us into a wearable piece of art.
Whether it’s Fordite we cut ourselves or a rare find from a designer we admire, every necklace is finished with the same obsession over detail and quality.
