Often called "Detroit Agate," Fordite isn't a gemstone mined from the earth. Instead, it's a rare automotive material created through decades of craftsmanship inside American automobile factories.
During the Corvette painting process, layers of overspray accumulated on fixtures and equipment. Each layer was baked alongside the cars until it formed a solid block of colorful automotive history. Today, those layers are carefully cut, shaped, and polished to reveal mesmerizing patterns that can never be recreated.
